House Cleaning San Angelo TX

Hello, my name is Steve Alce. I’m a professional painter and today I represent AllProWashing.com. Now we’re going to talk a little bit about pressure washing. And the reason we’re talking about pressure washing is, it’s crucial to pressure wash the exterior house before you do any painting. It’s not that you can’t paint without pressure washing, it’s just that the paint is not going to stick as well as it will adhere to a cleaner surface. Now with pressure washers, there is a couple kinds you can get. You can get the gas powered ones which are the best and the strongest, or you can get something like, I’m using today an electric pressure washer. On this job, it’s not really peeling bad. It doesn’t get a lot of sunlight, so it’s not too bad. If you got a lot of heavy shocking or a lot of peeling, then you want a really strong gas-powered pressure washer. But on something light like this, I just used my standard electric pressure washer. And this only is about twelve hundred psi. There’s not a lot to it. So it doesn’t have as much strength as a big one, but it’s not going to need as much because mostly we’re just going to get the dirt off and we’re going to take out these old cobwebs that are up in the eaves, that kind of thing. This is why today we’re going to go ahead and use this standard old electric pressure washer.

If you are looking for a reliable roof pressure cleaning company in the San Angelo, TX area, then reach out to AllProWashing at (325) 219-0646.

Now these are real easy to turn on. it’s just a button in the back. Push the button and you’re going to hear it we’re up. That means the pressure is good. Then you just kind of want to test it and pull the trigger. See that’s already sent to about 15 degrees. That’s going to be about what I normally work with, and that’s why it’s got that’s enough to clean the area and it still has pretty good pressure. This pressure washer is only about twelve hundred psi pounds per square inch now. We are hoping we’re not going to find any rough areas, that’s why we’re using electric because mostly we’re just washing. But if we found a rough area we want to go ahead and go to this tip turn it all the way to this to the left side and you’re going to get that eagle. That has the maximum pressure off of the pressure washer. Now dig out any area you have even if you got a stubborn cobweb that’s up in a corner.

But normally you’re going to keep that at about fifteen. Now that’s just a matter of turning the wand tip. You want to get the back side as well. Then you want to go ahead and get the reverse side too. You see this is a pretty good paint job. I’m gonna bring my face on down, work my way down the eaves. That way now once I’ve got to us a point that I like, I want to go ahead and get the rest of this section while I’m here instead of making a lot of moves. So I’m going to need to get a little higher to get these jalousies. So I kind of keep a ladder handy I’m going to pull that in now. Pull that into place and jump off a couple runs. Now once i’m up here i can shoot down on it that way to work like where you really. Now all that’s left is this bottom part on the wall will bring that on up and keep continuing on down. And this is how you pressure wash the exterior surface of a house to prepare it for painting.

Roof Pressure Washing In Carrollton TX

Today we are speaking with one of our contractors, Craig Johnson from AllProWashing.com in Carrollton, TX about his experience pressure washing shingles and what to look out for. Whenever you pressure wash your roof, you want to watch out for any electrical wires a big hardware that you can bump into. Or all the loose stuff under your feet, especially when you’re working on the pitch part of the roof that could throw your white off the roof or electrocute you.

If you are looking for a reliable roof pressure cleaning company in the Carrollton, TX area, then reach out to AllProWashing at (214) 390-4557.

Now, this is a normal single room. Part of it is pitched and part of it is flat. So you want to work it from the top and work your way down. Always work the stuff away from you. Now remember with shingles, you don’t want to get too close on them. If you get too close on shingles, they’re going to fly off and then you got roof repair. All you want to do is kind of take this debris off and wash it down a little. So just kind of work the debris. And then channel it away from you. So work this debris away from you and channel it on away. And remember when you’re on a roof, be aware of where your feet are, because if you fall you’re going to fall a lot further than just hitting the ground.

Now the way to work with the pressure washer is to start with the top and start bringing it down. And you will find little gullies that are full of trash. So you work at something like this and you notice I’m starting at the top and I’m bringing everything down. Now once that’s done, then I want to go ahead and just sort of work this other stuff over. That’s a lot of work to do. I’m going to go ahead and shovel it all up with the pressure washer, but this is the basic technique for pressure washing a road.

Roof Pressure Washing Frisco TX

Periodic roof cleaning by a professional cleaner is an important part of home maintenance tasks that will protect your roof from decay and prevent expensive repairs. A clean roof is attractive and can even increase the value of your home if you intend to sell it in future. You can do the cleaning yourself but it is better to hire a roof cleaning contractor, such as Expert Drywall USA in Frisco, TX, for the best results. Roof cleaning specialists use a variety of cleaning methods and tools. The following guide will focus on roof cleaning through power washing and roof cleaning with chemicals.

Roof Cleaning Methods

Roof cleaning professionals apply their expertise and special tools to clean different types of roofs. Typically, there are two roof cleaning methods used by professionals to remove algae from roofs. These methods are:

• Pressure washing – In this method high pressurized water from a power washer is used to blast out dirt, mold, algae and debris from the roof.
• Chemical cleaning – Also called soft washing, the method utilizes chemicals to soften and destroy microorganisms on the roof which are later rinsed off.

Both of these roof cleaning methods have their own strengths and shortcomings. If you understand your roof type, you can go on and choose an ideal cleaning method that will get rid of the unwanted contaminants.

Roof Pressure Washing Procedure

Since pressure washing uses highly pressurized water, it is best suited for metal or concrete roofs. This cleaning method can easily damage shingles if executed poorly. Cleaning with a pressure washer should always follow the direction of shingles and start from the peak of the roof. Clean small portions as you work your way downwards. You can consider using soap in cleaning to help loosen grime. Avoid directing the jet of water in between tiles or shingles as this can easily loosen the seal and expose your roof to moisture issues. Experts normally recommend no more than 1,500 psi when pressure washing to safeguard your roof. Maintain a 30cm distance from the wand to the roof. Signs of granules or grit from your roof as seen in the gutter mean that the water pressure is too high and needs to be reduced.

Chemical Roof Cleaning

Chemical cleaning is an effective way to clean the roof. Chlorine bleach works perfectly in removing tough stains and in killing unwanted plant life on the roof like mold and algae. Chlorine is a natural chemical that breaks down into salt, oxygen and water hence less harmless. Sodium hypochlorite is also used in roof cleaning but because of its very high corrosive nature, most DIY cleaners avoid it and prefer chlorine bleach.

If your roof has been stained by algae, rain or other substances, chemical cleaning can be effective especially for shingles and tiles. Chlorine bleach is less harsh on roof cleaning than other chemicals. You need to mix one part of chlorine with one part of clean water to get an effective cleaning solution. Next, you need to apply the solution on the contaminated roof and let it sit for a few minutes. The bleach will work by loosening dirt and algae after which they can be rinsed off.

For tough stains, professionals may add a green detergent which also dissolves grease for extra cleanliness. A hose rather than a power washer is then used to rinse off the detergent, bleach and dirt residues.

Safety Tips

• Bleach should be thoroughly rinsed off from the roof because it can corrode metallic roofing materials and some other delicate parts on your building.
• Never handle roof cleaning chemicals without gloves, eye protection and protective clothing because the solutions can irritate the skin and eyes.
• Consider shielding your lawn, potted plants and shrubs underneath your house with tarp whenever using chemical cleaners as they can kill plant life.
• Never step on a wet roof especially if it is has algae. Algae is very slippery when wet and stepping on it risks serious falls.
• Never direct a water jet from a power washer on people, animals or windows. The high pressure is not only damaging to buildings but can tear through the skin.

Finally, always take note that roof cleaning is not for everyone, consider hiring a professional roof cleaner if you are in doubt of your expertise or lack proper cleaning equipment.

Roof Pressure Washing Killeen TX

Roof cleaning and repair are some of the important maintenance services that should be carried out regularly to prolong the life service of your house. A well maintained roof looks good and adds value to your home if you intend to sell your home in future. Failure to clean your roof exposes it to dirt accumulation and growth of plant life like lichen, algae, moss and mold. These invaders only weigh down on your shingles and cause leaks and water damage. Repair cost is also immense in such situations. Roof cleaning will maintain the longevity of your shingles and roof structure. Hire professional roof cleaning service for inspection and cleaning. The following guide will help you understand the importance of professional roof cleaning service.

Roof Cleaning Methods

Algae growth on roofs is common and can be identified as black patches. The fungi and other forms of dirt can be cleaned out for a new-looking roof. The type of roof on your building will however determine the kind of cleaning method needed to effectively eliminate the elements aging your roof. Basically, roof cleaning can be done by two methods which are chemical washing and pressure washing:

  1. Chemical washing

Common chemical solutions used in roof cleaning include chlorine and sodium hydroxide. The advantage of chemical washing is that it can be used on any type of roofing material. Chemical washing also kills stain-causing plants like algae and moss on your roof.

  1. Pressure washing

This method uses pressurised water to blast out algae and other forms of plant life growing on your roof. Pressure washing is effective for tiles or metallic roofs.

A professional can use one cleaning method or combine both depending on the elements that have invaded your roof.

Roof Pressure Washing

A professional will use a pressure washer machine to clean a roof with water. If you are thinking of hiring pressure washer from your local hardware shop, better hire an expert to clean your roof because pressure washers can be very damaging to shingles if handled carelessly. Pressurized water from a pressure washer will loosen the roots of plants growing on your roof and wash the mess away.

To remove algae, your professional cleaner will begin with a small area on the peak of the roof and work his way downwards. The water pressure can be very destructive. To avoid damage, the head of the wand is directed at least 30 cm away from the roof surface at medium pressure. The wand is lowered gently to blast out mold or lichen. Very high pressure will only rip the roof surface and loosen the seams of shingles exposing your roof to moisture damage.

Chemical Washing

If you prefer to clean your roof, consider using chlorine solutions as they are weaker compared to sodium hydroxide. Remember to wear protective clothing and safe eye protection because chemical solutions can easily irritate the skin and eyes. A professional will recommend use of chemical cleaning for your roof if you have mold or algae problem on your roof. The chemical solution to be used is applied on the fungi and left for sometime. The mess is then brushed off gently and the roof rinsed off with water. Moss and algae will be destroyed by the chemicals to leave your roof stain-free.

Safety Tips

If you have a steeply pitched roof, avoid the risk of do-it-yourself cleaning. You may fall from high heights or even slip and fall from the wet roof. Remember that algae can be very slippery when wet.

The same way chemical solutions kill plant life on your roof is the same way they can destroy your herbs and plants thriving in your garden. Protect your lawn and plants below with a tarpaulin from the damaging-effect of chemical solutions when cleaning your roof. The chemicals should as well be safely disposed away from plant and animal life.

Deck Cleaning Dallas

Hi, it’s Derek from All Pro Washing. Today I’m going to show you how to take care of your deck. To do the job this is the equipment I need; I got a selection of brooms, small and large. I’ve got some deck cleaner, safety equipment and a pressure washer. If you don’t have a pressure washer you can always use your hose. But you do get a really good finish if you have one.

Interested in hiring a pressure washing professional in Dallas, TX or surrounding areas? Give us a call at (214) 390-4557 and make an appointment today!

Next, I’m going to get rid of all this gear, so we can get started. I’m going to give it a good sweep first. Your best friend is a broom. Sweep it regularly with a softer broom that stop small particles from building up becoming a bigger mess. If it needs a stronger clean, use a hard bristle broom, maybe a little bit of water. The deck I am using for my demonstration needs a really good clean, so we’re going to use the pressure washer. We’re going to attach the pressure washer to a garden house. Don’t forget your safety equipment and just remember when using a pressure washer on an older deck, just be careful that you don’t bring up any cracks or split the wood.

Now we’re going to give the deck a scrub with some deck clean. Don’t fit the safety equipment and read the instructions. This one is one part it claimed four parts water. Now it’s important to give it a really good stew. So this broom is basically a scrubbing brush on a stick. It’s designed specifically for doing decks. It’s important to make sure that you don’t get cleaner all of your plants. You can see that it’s already starting to make a difference. You leave this on here for 10 to 20 minutes, and then you wash it off with the pressure washer. A deck clean is something you should do regularly. And don’t forget every now and then you can feed the timber. There’s some great products for that and you just choose the right one for the timber that your deck is made of. So that’s how you clean a deck. We need to do now is the gear back on here and have a bbq.

Pressure Washing and Deck Cleaning 101 – Part 2

We are back. And, this is the second part in our series, pressure washing and deck cleaning 101 by All Pro Washing. Next, we’re going to get started and we want to make sure first of all is that your on/off switch is flipped on. So it has power. And secondly, you want to make sure that your gas is open. Then, you’re going to make sure if you want to try to choke it if hasn’t started recently, have the choke on which is to the left. And, you want to make sure your throttle is about ¾. With that then we’ll give it a pull.

One of the nice things also is that you can actually, because this unit comes with a 50-foot hose, you don’t have to take unit up the stairs. We’re going to go ahead and pass the wand up this way. It keeps the pressure washer out of the way. And then we can watch the deck up top without having to deal with having the pressure washer up there in our way. In this scenario what we’re going to want to do is we’re going to want to start in the far corner and work our way back. Now we’re not using chemicals today because this pressure washer is plenty powerful enough to do this without using chemicals. If you have a deck that’s very old and has a lot of build-up of different stains and stuff on it, you might want to use chemicals to get started but we try to avoid it as much as possible. They’re not great for the environment.
patio cleaning dallas
If you have a pressure washer has enough pressure and flow you don’t really need them. So we’re going to start in this corner and when I start working our way back. You also might want to think about starting on your railings or higher areas and work your way down from the top. And that’s always a good methodology to always keep working from the top down from the furthest corner in.

Next, what we’re going to show you is actually how to use what we call a broom. And what this broom will do is extend your spraying surface to three nozzles. It will actually help you increase your efficiency and get the job done three times faster. This is not always going to be perfect for small spaces like maybe the cap rail of the deck, but when you get to larger surface areas you’ll see how much this can actually help speed up your job.
house pressure washing
Another important thing to note is that after you get done doing your upstairs area that you want to make sure that you clean off everything below it before you move on to your lower area. Essentially, you want to figure out what tip you want. You can probably go back to the same tip you were using the 25-degree angle. Or we also have another connection that you can put on and this tip is actually called turbo nozzle. The way the turbo nozzle works it’s actually very similar to a pressure washer tip. But what it does is take a 0-degree tip and it actually rotates it and gives you great blasting power. This is good for cleaning brick surfaces or cement, but you want to be careful not to get too close. Sometimes on wood products it’ll actually leave a swirling look which you can get rid of but it’s just something to take a consideration.
fast and easy deck cleaning
After you shut down your unit make sure you always release the pressure that’s built up in hose before you take off the tip. And that way you won’t have any extra pressure with that tip. After you’ve gotten everything done and cleaned up, you disconnect your water and your hose, you can coil up your hose and you can set it right here and the special spot that’s been designed for it. And then also, if you’re going to be leaving the pressure washer running period of time you want to put some kind of pump saver into it. What that does is, it coats the valves and all the mechanisms inside the pump. It also prevents if you’re in a cold climate from anything from freezing and cracking the pump. This is a very important feature. It’s a very simple thing to do. You essentially just attach a plastic bottle to this fitting and you pull the cord once for the starter. It then pumps some water through and some of the fluids special pumps a burr fluid that takes care of your pump. And will make it healthy for many years to come. Something else to keep in in mind is how good of shape your wood is and down below we had a deck that was only a year or so old. When we come to the upper deck here we actually had a deck that was much more porous and all older wood.
deck pressure washing and cleaning
And with the older wood, you’re tempted sometimes to really get deep down in. Essentially, you don’t want to overdo it with your pressure washer and get to close with your tip and tear that up. Because that will actually cause you problems and damage the wood even more. So, be careful with that. In heavy duty situations you might want to use a chemical there to help bleach the wood versus trying to blast it out. And there you have a nice and clean deck.
